A super easy crispy baked tofu recipe that requires only 2 ingredients! It will take you less than 10 minutes to make and is the perfect protein addition to any vegan or vegetarian salad. All you need is firm tofu, nutritional yeast, and an oven!
Why Crispy Baked Tofu?
Sometimes you are looking for the fastest, easiest, and healthiest way to add a little bit of protein and oomph to your vegan or vegetarian salads. During these times, I often think oh just a piece of chicken or tuna would be so easy right now. Does this sound like you? This is why I came up with this incredibly easy tofu "chicken".
Only 2 Ingredients!
Yes, only 2 ingredients! All you need is firm tofu and nutritional yeast. A pinch of salt won't hurt too. But the nutritional yeast itself is quite salty, Therefore, if you prefer to not add any salt then that's no problem.
Only 3 Steps Required
- Shred the tofu with your fingers
- Stir in the nutritional yeast, making sure it is evenly combined throughout the tofu
- Spread onto a baking lined baking tray, and bake for 10 minutes
Crispy Baked Tofu, Just Like Shredded Chicken
This recipe is a great substitute when you might otherwise use shredded chicken. To keep the process simple and quick, I like to shred the tofu with my fingers. If chicken imitation was your goal, you might choose to slice the tofu into long fine pieces with a knife instead. Regardless, the flavour remains the same.
