A healthy and easy papaya banana smoothie recipe made with just 4 ingredients: papaya, banana, soy milk (or coconut milk), and lime. That's it! Super simple but super tasty!

Papaya is a fruit that I didn't grow up eating but now that I live in Malaysia it's safe to safe that I'm obsessed with this unique tropical fruit. The mild flavour makes it the perfect fruit for making recipes with (like this baked papaya recipe or my go to papaya smoothie recipe) and it tastes so creamy whenever it's blended!
Usually I make my papaya smoothies with just papaya and maple syrup, but today I decided to make my regular papaya smoothie with banana for the extra energy and natural sweetness.
Also, a cool fact that you may not know, is that papaya is Malaysia's national fruit! I really do have access to the BEST papaya's in the world right now! Thank you Malaysia!
Why You'll Love This Recipe
Papaya may not be the first fruit that you reach for when making a smoothie, but trust me when I say that papayas are perfect for making smoothies! Papayas are deliciously creamy when blended, which is reminiscent of a milkshake.
However, papayas are not the sweetest fruit and this is why adding a banana to this smoothie makes it perfect! The papaya, banana and lime combination makes the perfect sweet, creamy and zesty tropical smoothie!
It's good for people who suffer from acid reflux because banana and papaya are low acid fruits
Another great reason to love this papaya banana smoothie recipe is because it's great for people who suffer from acid reflux. I personally struggle to have smoothies made with high citrus fruits when I'm having acid reflux symptoms. Papaya and banana are low acid fruits, which makes them the perfect fruit to calm our digestion! I absolutely love this smoothie for this reason. It feels like a massage for my insides!

Ingredients:
To make this papaya and banana smoothie you will need:
Papaya and Banana
I recommend that you buy fresh papaya and cut it up and freeze it in separate bags, ready for smoothies. This is what I do for my meal preps and I love it. Cutting a papaya might be tricky if it's your first time but don't worry I detailed exactly how in a separate blog article.
For the bananas, I also recommend that you wait until the bananas are very ripe and then freeze them. Unlike the papaya, do not slice the banana in small pieces, but rather put the whole banana or half a banana in a container or on a plate. It should be easy to remove when ready to be used.
Lime
I like to add fresh lime juice for a zesty kick!
Plant Milk
Coconut milk adds a deliciously tropical flavour to this smoothie but I personally prefer to use organic soy milk. I use organic soy milk in all of my smoothies because it has a higher protein content than coconut milk.
Protein Powder
I also like to add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder to my smoothies but this is completely optional and not really necessary unless you are very active like me.
