Peel, Slice and Freeze the Bananas: Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into coins about ½ inch (1–2 cm) thick. Arrange the slices in a single layer on a lined baking tray or plate and freeze until completely solid, about 2–3 hours. Once frozen, you can transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container for longer storage.
Add the Frozen Bananas: Place the frozen banana slices into the bowl of a food processor.
Blend: Process on high. At first, the bananas will become crumbly and resemble coarse crumbs. This is completely normal.
Scrape the Bowl: Stop the machine and scrape down the sides with a silicone spatula to ensure everything blends evenly.
Continue Processing: Keep blending until the mixture suddenly transforms into a smooth, creamy soft-serve consistency. Depending on your food processor, this usually takes 2–4 minutes.
Serve: Enjoy immediately for a soft-serve texture. If you'd like scoopable ice cream, transfer it to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 30 minutes before serving.
