Equipment

  • 1 blender + cheesecloth OR juicer

Ingredients

  • 6 oranges 1.1kg with skin on
  • 4 carrots 540 grams with skin on
  • 1 piece ginger 6cm piece / 55 grams with skin on

Instructions

Vitamix / Blender + Cheesecloth Method:

  • Peel the oranges completely, ensuring all white pith is removed to prevent the juice from becoming gelatinous when refrigerated.
  • Chop the carrots and ginger into small pieces to ease blending.
  • Add all ingredients into a blender (preferably a high-speed blender like a Vitamix). If using a lower-powered blender, add a small amount of water to help with blending.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the blended mixture into a cheesecloth placed over a large bowl.
  • Gather the cheesecloth and squeeze out as much juice as possible. For an efficient extraction, wrap the cloth around a wooden spoon and twist it tightly.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 3 days (although best consumer fresh).

Juicer Method:

  • Peel the oranges and cut them into segments.
  • Chop the carrots and ginger into smaller chunks for easier juicing.
  • Feed the ingredients into the juicer, alternating between soft oranges and firm carrots to optimize juice extraction.
  • Stir the juice to mix evenly and serve fresh or store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
