How To Make Fresh Papaya Juice
This recipe uses only three ingredients: ripe papaya, young coconut water, and lime. The coconut juice adds subtle sweetness and increases the volume of liquid whilst also adding extra natural electrolytes. The sweet coconut juice complements the subtle papaya flavour perfectly.

Why I Love Making This Papaya Juice
Living in the tropics means papayas grow almost everywhere, and they are one of the easiest fruits to turn into delicious drinks. This papaya juice recipe is one I come back to again and again because:
- It uses only three whole ingredients
- It’s naturally sweet with no added sugar
- Fresh coconut juice makes it extra hydrating
- It’s one of the easiest papaya recipes you can make
- It takes just minutes to prepare
Papaya is also wonderfully creamy when blended, so the juice has a smooth, almost smoothie-like texture while still being light and refreshing. It also keeps all of the fibre from the papaya, which is an excellent natural laxative!
Ingredients Needed for Papaya Juice

This recipe makes about 1 litre of juice.
Ingredients
- 2 large ripe papayas
- 1 large fresh young coconut (for the coconut juice)
- 2 limes
Ingredient tips
Papaya
Choose ripe papayas that are yellow or orange on the skin and slightly soft when pressed. These are naturally sweet and perfect for juice.
Young coconut
Fresh coconut juice adds natural electrolytes and a gentle sweetness. If you’re in a tropical country, opening a fresh young coconut makes a big difference to the flavour.
Lime
Fresh lime juice balances the sweetness of the papaya and lifts the whole drink.

Tips for the Best Papaya Juice
- Use very ripe papaya for the sweetest flavour.
