A naturally sweet, refreshing and nutrient packed Orange Ginger Carrot Juice recipe that can be made with either a blender + cheesecloth, or any juicer.

I love making fresh fruit juice and I especially love making fresh juice with either ginger or turmeric. However, both of these spices can be overpowering and too spicy in one juice. Therefore, when I combine turmeric and ginger, I like to make ginger, turmeric, and carrot juice shots! Some of my other favourite juice recipes include my green juice with pineapple recipe and my electrolyte restoring watermelon juice recipe. I also love to make popsicles with fresh fruit juice such as these watermelon ice pops and these dragonfruit popsicles.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
This fresh Orange Ginger Carrot Juice is packed with immune-boosting nutrients and has a zesty kick from the ginger. It’s naturally sweet, refreshing, and perfect for a morning energy boost or an afternoon pick-me-up. Plus, this recipe is incredibly simple and doesn’t require a juicer—just a blender and a cheesecloth! If you do have a juicer, you can still follow along for an effortless way to enjoy freshly squeezed juice at home.
How to Make Orange Ginger Carrot Juice
Making this juice is super easy! Simply blend or juice oranges, carrots, and ginger to extract all the natural flavors and nutrients. If using a blender, you’ll strain the juice using a cheesecloth for a smooth finish. For juicers, alternating between soft oranges and firm carrots ensures optimal juice extraction.
Ingredients Needed for This Orange Ginger Carrot Juice

Each ingredient plays a key role in this nutritious juice:
- Oranges – Naturally sweet and packed with vitamin C, oranges are the base of this juice. Make sure to remove the skin completely to avoid turning your juice into jelly due to the high pectin content.
- Carrots – Carrots provide a subtle sweetness and an earthy depth while adding a hefty dose of beta-carotene, which supports eye health and gives your skin a natural glow.
- Ginger – A powerful anti-inflammatory ingredient, ginger adds a spicy warmth to the juice, aiding digestion and boosting immunity.
How to Make Orange Ginger Carrot Juice
Ingredients
- 6 oranges (1.1kg with skin on)
- 4 carrots (540 grams with skin on)
- Ginger (6cm piece / 55 grams with skin on)
Instructions
Vitamix / Blender + Cheesecloth Method:
- Peel the oranges completely, ensuring all white pith is removed to prevent the juice from becoming gelatinous when refrigerated.
- Chop the carrots and ginger into small pieces to ease blending.
- Add all ingredients into a blender (preferably a high-speed blender like a Vitamix). If using a lower-powered blender, add a small amount of water to help with blending.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour the blended mixture into a cheesecloth placed over a large bowl.
- Gather the cheesecloth and squeeze out as much juice as possible. For an efficient extraction, wrap the cloth around a wooden spoon and twist it tightly.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 3 days (although best consumer fresh).
Juicer Method:
- Peel the oranges and cut them into segments.
- Chop the carrots and ginger into smaller chunks for easier juicing.
- Feed the ingredients into the juicer, alternating between soft oranges and firm carrots to optimize juice extraction.
- Stir the juice to mix evenly and serve fresh or store in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Tips and Tricks for Perfecting Your Juice
- If using a blender, strain the juice thoroughly to remove pulp for a smoother drink.
- For best results with a juicer, alternate between soft and hard ingredients to ensure even juice flow.
- Store the juice in an airtight glass jar in the fridge for up to three days for maximum freshness.
- If you prefer a milder ginger taste, reduce the amount of ginger (it can be quite spicy if you're not used to fresh ginger)
Frequently Asked Questions About Orange Ginger Carrot Juice
Consuming excessive amounts of carrot juice over time can cause carotenemia, a harmless condition that turns the skin slightly orange. This usually happens when drinking more than two cups of carrot juice daily for an extended period.
This combination is packed with vitamins and minerals. Carrots provide beta-carotene for healthy skin, oranges are rich in vitamin C for immunity, and ginger offers anti-inflammatory properties.
This juice is excellent for digestion, boosting immunity, reducing inflammation, and providing an energy boost due to its natural sugars and vitamins.
Variations
- Turmeric Addition – Add a small piece of fresh turmeric root for an extra anti-inflammatory boost. Be careful with how much you add though, because fresh turmeric is also spicy / zesty like fresh ginger! This is why I like to make "ginger and turmeric shots" when combining turmeric and ginger in a juice.
- Apple Addition – Swap out one orange for a crisp apple to add more natural sweetness!
- Lemon Twist – A squeeze of fresh lemon juice brightens the flavors and balances the sweetness.
Common Mistakes to Avoid When Making This Recipe
- Leaving orange skin on – The pectin in orange peels will turn your juice into jelly when refrigerated.
- Not straining properly – If using a blender, make sure to use a cheesecloth to strain out all pulp for a smooth texture.
- Skipping ingredient alternation in a juicer – If using a juicer, alternate between soft and firm ingredients for efficient juice extraction.
- Overloading on ginger – Ginger can be overpowering and spicy; start with a smaller amount and adjust to taste.
