This is an easy vanilla mango smoothie recipe that is vegan and made with 1 serving (1 scoop) of vanilla protein powder. The key ingredients to making this smoothie a success is using your favourite vanilla protein powder!
How To Make A Vanilla Mango Protein Smoothie
You will need the following ingredients to make the most delicious vanilla protein smoothie for 2 people:
💚 1.5 cups of mango
💚 2 cups of water
💚 ¾ cup of your favourite vanilla protein powder (70 grams)
💚 4 Medjool dates (pitted)
💚 Handful of frozen spinach (optional to make it a green smoothie)
💚 ¼ cup of almond butter
💚 ½ cup of rolled oats
💚 Handful of ice (if mango isn’t frozen)
Vanilla Mango Smoothie Ingredient Substitutes
You can choose to make the following substitutes the above ingredients for several reasons:
Mango (The Number 1 Ingredient For A Vanilla Mango Smoothie)
There is no substitute for mango! The only recommendation I have for this is to keep frozen mango in your fridge at all times. This means that this smoothie recipe is always available to you
Water
You can choose to use any kind of plant milk instead of water. I chose to use water because I dont always have almond milk. I add a good amount of almond butter instead to make my own kind of almond milk
Vanilla Protein Powder (The Key Ingredient To This Vanilla Mango Smoothie)
This is a really important ingredient to get right. I love the taste of the vanilla protein powder that I use in my smoothie (and its vegan!). It's a vanilla almond protein powder and its tasty as a standalone protein shake.
If you don't have a vanilla protein powder, you can substitute with the following:
- 2 scoops / 70 grams of pure pea protein (or any other unflavoured protein you use). If you don't take protein powder, you can substitute this for rolled oats
- 1-2 teaspoon of stevia, erythritol, or sugar
- 2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla essence
Medjool Dates
This recipe is very sweet. If you don't like your smoothies too sweet, you may choose to omit some of the dates or remove them completely

- 1½ cup mango
