Smoothie #2: Raspberry Banana Green Smoothie

raspberry banana smoothie healthy smoothie recipes
    Raspberry Banana Smoothie

My second favourite vegan smoothie recipe is this raspberry banana smoothie made with lime juice. I specifically mention the lime juice because although a small addition, it seriously makes a world of difference to the flavour! Adding additional greens is optional, but I always like to sneak in some frozen spinach or kale into my breakfast smoothies

    • ❤️ 25 grams pure pea protein (optional) (I use unflavoured)

Smoothie #3: Green Peanut Butter Smoothie With Cinnamon

peanut butter banana smoothie healthy smoothie recipes
Green Peanut Butter Smoothie With Cinnamon

This smoothie recipe was one of my first loves (when it comes to smoothies). It was soon to be triumphed by the chocolate peanut butter smoothie and the raspberry banana smoothie (smoothie #1 & #2), but coming in at #3 on the list it's a sure winner.

Ingredients for a green peanut butter smoothie with cinnamon (1 serving):

    • 💚 1 small frozen banana
    • 💚 1 tbsp peanut butter

    Smoothie #4: Banana Vanilla Smoothie

(There isn't a photo of this smoothie to add to this blog post yet. Stay tuned!)

This banana vanilla smoothie recipe is probably one of the EASIEST easy smoothie recipes on this list. But don't let that cloud your judgement on the flavour. This recipe uses simple ingredients and is awesome for an afternoon snack. It's also a great for a vegan breakfast smoothie. There are days when this smoothie is my favourite. If you are in the mood for a milkshake, or thick shake, this smoothie hits the spot!

Ingredients for a banana vanilla smoothie (1 serving):

    • 💛 2 small frozen ripe bananas (very ripe ones are better because they are sweeter!)
    • 💛 2 Medjool dates (pitted)
    • 💛 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 💛 1.5 cups of plant milk
    • 💛 1 handful of ice (optional)
    • 💛 1 scoop of protein powder (optional). TIP to make this extra tasty, use your favourite vanilla protein powder

Calories in a banana vanilla smoothie

    With protein powder: 478 Calories | 81g Carbs | 30g Protein | 5g Fat

    Without protein powder: 365 Calories | 81g Carbs | 5g Protein | 5g Fat

My Favourite Vegan Protein Powder Smoothies (Healthy Smoothie Recipes)

The next 4 smoothie recipes are my favourite protein powder smoothies.

I love to add protein powder to all of my smoothies. If you prefer to not add any protein powder then I suggest you add 1 scoop of oatmeal or 1 tablespoon of chia seeds / flaxseeds instead. The protein content won't be the same, but at least you're adding some calories to the smoothie to keep you going!

Smoothie #5: Vanilla Mango Protein Smoothie

    vanilla mango smoothie
    Vanilla Mango Protein Smoothie

Mango is the perfect fruit for a smoothie. It's sweet, easy to freeze, and makes any smoothie or smoothie bowl ultra creamy. Many of the smoothies on this list feature mango as the primary fruit, and for good reason!

Mango is ultra cheap here in Malaysia. I can buy 4 large mangoes for about RM 10 (which is approx US $2.40). Thus you're going to see a lot of mango based smoothies featured in this post!

The key to making this vanilla mango protein smoothie amazing, is choosing the right protein powder. I've found the BEST vegan vanilla protein powder and the combination with the ingredients in this smoothie is so damn tasty! Make sure to find your favourite too!

Ingredients for a vanilla mango protein smoothie (1 serving):

    • 💚 ¾ cups of mango
    • 💚 1 cup of water
    • 💚 1 scoop of your favourite vanilla protein powder (30 grams)
    • 💚 2 Medjool dates (pitted)
    • 💚 Handful of frozen spinach or kale (optional to make it a green smoothie)
    • 💚 1 tablespoon of almond butter
    • 💚 ¼ cup of rolled oats
    • 💚 Handful of ice (if the mango isn’t frozen)

Calories for a vanilla mango protein smoothie

    Including Protein Powder:510 Calories | 70g Carbs | 33g Protein | 10g Fat

    Without the Protein Powder: 395 Calories | 70g Carbs | 8g Protein | 10g Fat

    Smoothie #6: Banana Protein Shake

    banana protein shake
    Banana Protein Shake

Inspired by a traditional milkshake, this recipe keeps it simple with just frozen banana, vanilla extract, protein powder, plant milk, and coconut sugar.

Ingredients for a banana protein shake (1 serving):

    • 💛 1 medium or 1.5 small bananas (frozen or add ice)
    • 💛 1 scoop of pure pea protein powder (I use unflavoured)
    • 💛 1 tablespoon of almond butter
    • 💛 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar
    • 💛 1.5 cups of water

TIP: Similar to the vanilla mango protein smoothie recipe, you can make this recipe extra simple by using your favourite vanilla protein powder instead of adding vanilla extract & coconut sugar.

Calories in a banana protein shake

    With Protein Powder: 413 Calories | 47g Carbs | 31g Protein | 14g Fat

    Without Protein Powder: 293 Calories | 44g Carbs | 6g Protein | 13g Fat

Smoothie #7: Peanut Butter Jelly Protein Smoothie

    peanut butter and jelly smoothie
    Peanut Butter Jelly Protein Smoothie

Inspired by the original peanut butter jelly sandwich, this smoothie is excellent as a post gym workout snack or quick breakfast smoothie.

Ingredients for a peanut butter jelly protein smoothie (1 serving):

    • 💜 1 cup of frozen raspberries
    • 💜 2 tablespoon of peanut butter
    • 💜 1.5 cups of almond milk
    • 💜 ½ cup of frozen spinach (optional)
    • 💜 25 grams of pea protein powder
    • 💜 2 teaspoon of erythritol

Calories in a peanut butter jelly smoothie

    With Protein Powder: 448 Calories | 29g Carbs | 36g Protein | 23g Fat

    Without Protein Powder: 328 Calories | 26g Carbs | 11g Protein | 22g Fat

    Smoothie #8 Protein Mango Smoothie

    protein mango smoothie
    Protein Mango Smoothie

This protein mango smoothie combines the most delicious fruit on the planet and protein powder. To make this smoothie a hit, it's important to use a high quality sweet mango. The first time I tried this smoothie I was in love. the second time I made I wasn't so much. I discovered that the sweetness of mangoes can differ greatly in Malaysia. Therefore, make sure to use a sweet one!

Ingredients for a protein mango smoothie (1 serving):

    • 💛 1 cup of frozen mango
    • 💛 1 cup of almond milk
    • 💛 1 scoop / 30grams of pea protein
    • 💛 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
    • 💛 ½ teaspoon of stevia
    • 💛 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
    • 💛 A dash of cold water to help the smoothie blend if it’s a little too thick (or more almond milk if not calorie counting)

Calories in a protein mango smoothie:

    With Protein Powder: 315 Calories | 34g Carbs | 29g Protein | 8g Fat

    Without Protein Powder: 195 Calories | 31g Carbs | 4g Protein | 7g Fat

    Low Calories Smoothie Recipes

The next few healthy smoothie recipes are my go to healthy weight loss smoothie recipes. All of my low calorie smoothies are some form of a mixed berry smoothie. This is because berries are low in calories, but high in volume, making them the perfect low calorie weight loss breakfast smoothie.

For all these weight loss fruit smoothie recipes, I recommend using frozen berries. This is because frozen berry smoothie recipes don't require any additional ice to be added, meaning the full sweetness or tartness of the berry flavour is utilised.

Smoothie #9 Low Calorie Berry Smoothie

A mixed berry smoothie made with blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. The size of a normal smoothie, but extra low in calories thanks to the berries!

Ingredients for a low calorie berry smoothie (1 serving):

    • 💜 ½ cup of blueberries
    • 💜 ½ cup of raspberries
    • 💜 ½ cup of strawberries
    • 💜 1 cup of almond milk
    • 💜 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

Calories in a low calories berry smoothie

    Without Protein Powder: 188 Calories | 31g Carbs | 6g Protein | 7g Fat

Note: I don't add protein powder to berry only smoothies. This is because I use pure pea unflavoured protein powder which can taste bitter without something like banana or mango to mask the flavour. If you want to add protein powder to this smoothie make its a tasty flavoured protein powder because the berries won't mask the flavour of pure pea protein powder.

Smoothie #10 Banana Blueberry Kiwi Smoothie

    banana and blueberry smoothie
    Banana Blueberry Kiwi Smoothie

A banana, blueberry and kiwi smoothie made with several other ingredients too. This one is a bit more complicated than the other smoothies on this list, with some special ingredients like maca powder. If you are willing to source these ingredients then its certainly worth a try!

Ingredients for a banana, blueberry and kiwi smoothie (1 serving):

    • 💜 1 small frozen banana
    • 💜 ½ frozen kiwi fruit
    • 💜 ½ cup frozen blueberries
    • 💜 1 tbsp chia seeds
    • 💜 1 tablespoon of Maca powder
    • 💜 1 cup frozen kale or spinach
    • 💜 1-1½ cups of unsweetened almond milk
    • 💜 ½ cup coconut water
    • 💜 1 scoop of pea protein 30 grams per scoop

    With Protein Powder: 395 Calories | 53g Carbs | 33g Protein | 7g Fat

    Without Protein Powder: 274 Calories | 50g Carbs | 8g Protein | 6g Fat

    Smoothie #11 Banana Strawberry Smoothie

banana strawberry smoothie healthy smoothie recipes
    Banana Strawberry Smoothie

The last smoothie on this list low calories list, is the low calorie smoothie recipe strawberry banana. A strawberry banana smoothie is always a winner.

There is only 354 calories in a banana strawberry smoothie, and only 241 calories if you choose to omit the rolled oats. If you want to make a banana strawberry smoothie healthy, then go ahead and add a handful of spinach or kale too.

Ingredients in a low calorie banana strawberry smoothie (1 serving):

    • ❤️ 2 cups of strawberry
    • ❤️ 1 banana
    • ❤️ ⅓ cup of rolled oats
    • ❤️ 1 cup of almond milk

Calories in a banana strawberry smoothie

    354 Calories | 72g Carbs | 8g Protein | 6g Fat

This smoothie has no protein powder. If you want to add protein powder and keep it low calories, you could swap the rolled oats for protein powder.

And that's all of the best weightless breakfast smoothie recipes! Now moving onto the last category of smoothies, my best beginner green smoothie recipes.

Here is my list of the best green smoothie recipes and the best smoothie recipes for losing weight.

    Smoothie #12 Green Mango Smoothie

    healthy smoothie recipes
Green Mango Smoothie (the added pomegranates are just for the photo!)

I love making healthy smoothie recipes with mango. Mango is the best of all worlds in that it is fresh, healthy, sweet, and adds a creamy texture to the smoothie. In this smoothie I have added the pomegranate on top just to make it look extra pretty! I've never actually tried making a smoothie with pomegranate. Not yet anyway!

    • 💚 ½ cup frozen spinach (I use frozen spinach medallions, about 40 grams)

    • 💚 1 scoop / 30grams of pea protein

Calories in a green mango smoothie

    With Protein Powder: 315 Calories | 34g Carbs | 29g Protein | 8g Fat

    Without Protein Powder: 195 Calories | 31g Carbs | 4g Protein | 8 Fat

    • 💚 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)

Calories in a green banana pineapple smoothie

    With Protein Powder: 462 Calories | 79g Carbs | 33g Protein | 5g Fat

    Without Protein Powder: 342 Calories | 76g Carbs | 8g Protein | 4g Fat

Smoothie #14 Pineapple Mango Smoothie With Greens

(There is no photo to accompany the green mango pineapple smoothie yet)

Now onto the second last smoothie on this healthy smoothie recipes list, the pineapple mango smoothie with greens. This smoothie is the same as smoothie #13 but uses sweet mango instead of banana.

Ingredients for a pineapple mango smoothie with greens:

    • 💚 2 cups of frozen pineapple chunks
    • 💚 1 cup of frozen mango
    • 💚 1.5 cup of plant milk
    • 💚 1 handful of kale or spinach

Smoothie #15 Clean Mint Green Smoothie

(There is no photo to accompany the clean mint green smoothie yet)

This last smoothie on the list is as healthy as it gets when it comes to healthy smoothie recipes. I don't add any protein powder to this one, and instead enjoy it for its super greens goodness. Once you start to become a green smoothie pro, start to increase the amount of spinach and kale you add!

Ingredients for a clean mint green smoothie:

    • 💚 2 frozen medium banana
    • 💚 1 cup of pineapple chunks
    • 💚 1 cup of plant milk
